to this Society, its object shall be the discovery, collection, preservation and

parishes, institutions, societies, offices, clergy and laity of the Roman Catholic
Church, with particular reference to those of the Conewago Valley; the collection
and preservation of books, newspapers, maps, genealogies, portraits, paintings,
relics, engravings, manuscripts, letters, journals, and any and all materials which
may establish or illustrate such history; the marking and preservation of buildings and sites of historical importance;
and the acquisition by donation, purchase, or loan, of tools, appliances and objects
of antiquarian interest.
